Lisa Emerick was recently named associate publisher at Crain’s Chicago Business.
In 2010, Lisa began her second tour of duty at Crain’s as marketing director, where she oversaw marketing and audience development.
In her newest role, she has added oversight of Crain’s advertising sales business and continues to oversee marketing and audience development.
A Chicago native, Lisa has a bachelor’s degree in political science and history from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She started her career at Success Magazine and worked at Crain’s from 1986 to 1998 in sales and marketing positions, including director of business development. Later, she was a consultant for magazines and newspapers and worked with several business-to-business clients on sales and marketing strategy.
Crain’s Publisher David Snyder said about her appointment, “Lisa has played a pivotal role in every aspect of our quest to position Crain’s as a long-term winner in a changing media landscape. As our business has expanded and as we step up our efforts to grow even more, she is ideally suited to help manage the publication during this important phase of our history.”
Lisa sits on the board of the Magnificent Mile Association and has been affiliated with the Museum of Broadcast Communications, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, ALS Foundation, Association of Area Business Publications, Off the Street Club, Chicago Advertising Federation and Family Rescue.
Lisa lives in Park Ridge, Illinois, with her husband and two sons.
