As Lydall’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Greenstein is fueled by a strong sense of purpose, and the vision, respect, and courage to make sure everyone and everything is better off as a result of their work. Her experience in creating sustainable value for employees, customers, shareholders, and the environment has resulted in her ability to successfully guide major transformations of global manufacturing and service companies. Ms. Greenstein’s experience extends across multiple industries from CPG to industrials with her deep expertise in manufacturing, digital transformation, product development and innovation, and commercial relationships with major global OEMs.

Ms. Greenstein is currently the President, CEO, and Board Member at Lydall, Inc. (NYSE: LDL), a leading global manufacturer of value-added engineered materials and specialty filtration solutions serving the industrial, automotive, agribusiness, and medical markets. Lydall is a global, diverse organization with a complex technology

portfolio, where Ms. Greenstein is leading a large-scale transformation delivering exceptional results to shareholders. One of a few companies capable of creating high-efficiency filtration media for respirators, surgical masks, and air filtration systems, Ms. Greenstein led Lydall, as Covid emerged, to rapidly allocate its resources toward maximizing production of these critical materials. She directed efforts to secure major commitments from the U.S. Department of Defense and funding from the French government to support investment in three new production lines and a Center of Excellence dedicated to advancing filtration science. Successfully navigating the pandemic’s global impact, Ms. Greenstein refocused and acted across Lydall’s diversified portfolio, including site closures and expansions, and successfully navigated the automotive shutdown across the EU and US.

Ms. Greenstein joined Lydall from integrated steel producer U.S. Steel (NYSE: X), where she served as Senior Vice President for the $4B global Consumer Solutions BU, overseeing thousands of employees across nine large operating facilities, including multiple steel mills and the largest Coke plant in the western hemisphere, serving customers in the packaging, appliances and infrastructure/construction end markets. She led the BU’s turnaround by driving unprecedented profitable growth and building a strong and diverse team.

Before, Ms. Greenstein served for 12 years in multiple executive positions at Underwriters Laboratories (UL), the world’s leading global safety certification company. She led UL’s transformation from a U.S. non-profit focused on traditional product safety testing to a global $1B+ for-profit market leader in compliance engineering services, risk management, secure supply chain commerce, and environmental sustainability.

She began her career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and Boston Consulting Group, where she helped large, global clients drive profitable growth by providing strategic/business transformation guidance. Ms. Greenstein earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.

Translating her vision into Board service, Ms. Greenstein most recently served on the Board of Directors (Finance, Nominating & Governance committees) for Briggs & Stratton Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of gasoline engines for lawn and garden equipment (2018 to 2020). She has also served as a Trustee of the UL-CCIC Board of Directors in China (2004 – 2010) and as a director on the Board of Hu-Friedy (2007 – 2012), a world leader in dental instrument manufacturing.

Growing up on an Illinois farm Sara learned at an early age the importance of hard work and providing for her community–values that have shaped her professional life and leadership style. Today, she is just as comfortable in the wide-open fields of her home state as she is in the boardroom or on the shop floor at one of Lydall’s facilities across NA, Europe, and China. Ms. Greenstein has a husband and three children.
