Catherine (Cathy) A. Jacobson is the retired CEO of Froedtert Thedacare Health, a not-for-profit integrated delivery system with $6B of system-wide revenue located in Wisconsin. In Cathy’s twelve years of leadership, she led the organization to market leading growth and financial and operating performance significantly enhancing the local, regional and national recognition of the organization. She retired effective June 30, 2024.
Cathy spent 22 years at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. She was responsible during her tenure for health plan finance and operations, corporate compliance and audit and all financial functions and strategy development leaving the corporation as CFO, Treasurer and SVP of Finance and Strategic Planning, Marketing and Communications. Cathy started her career in public accounting at Arthur Andersen.
Cathy was appointed to the board of Teladoc Health in 2020 and serves as the chair of the nominations and governance committee and as a member of the quality committee. As a national healthcare leader, Cathy served on the board of the Wisconsin Hospital Association formerly serving as chair and served on the national board of the Healthcare Financial Management Association also serving as chair. She currently serves on the board of Vizient, the largest member owned performance improvement company in healthcare and is past chair of the board, formerly chairing the audit committee. Cathy previously served on the board of Mercy Health located in Cincinnati, Ohio, chaired the finance and strategy committee overseeing a merger which doubled the size of the organization and a member of the CEO search committee. She has been recognized multiple times by industry leader Modern Healthcare as one of the most 100 influential leaders in healthcare and one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Healthcare. Cathy received an Honorary Doctor of Healthcare Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was recognized in 2024 with the Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award from the National Center for Healthcare Leadership.
Cathy served on the board of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area Chamber serving as chair for a two-year term ended 2023; she was the first female chair. She currently also serves on the boards of the Siebert Lutheran Foundation in Milwaukee, WI and on the board of trustees of Bradley University, Peoria, IL where she also serves as secretary of the board. She is the chair of the Executive Advisory Board for Hallmark Healthcare and is on the advisory board of Allumia Ventures.
