Media Consultant Mary Ann Childers has achieved success on both sides of the camera.

As a consultant to the Chicago-based Res Publica Group public affairs firm, her own media firm, Mary Ann Childers, Inc., specializes in strategic planning, crisis consulting, and honing on-camera and presentation skills for Chicago’s top business executives, authors, physicians, and others in the public eye.

A respected Anchorwoman and Medical Editor for two network-owned TV stations (CBS2/WBBM-TV & ABC7/WLS-TV), she was the first woman to anchor a top-rated 10 p.m. Chicago newscast.

Mary Ann has covered political conventions, elections, natural disasters, a war, and nearly every major breaking story in Chicago for more than 25 years.  She has anchored thousands of hours of programming, including newscasts, news stories, documentaries, and event and issue-oriented specials.

She has won 5 Emmys for reporting, writing, and producing – including a prestigious national Emmy for coverage of the death of Pope John Paul II.

Behind the scenes, Mary Ann was Associate Producer of the nationally syndicated “Phil Donahue Show”.

Mary Ann has a reputation for extensive community involvement, and has donated her time to the American Heart Association, the Aids Walk; the former Y-Me Race (billed as America’s largest single charity event) and the Les Turner ALS Foundation, among others.

Mary Ann is a graduate of Northwestern University.  She is married to veteran CBS2 Special Correspondent Jay Levine, and lives in Chicago.
