Erin Amico is the President & CEO of The Chicago Academy of Sciences and its Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (“Nature Museum”). For 166 years, the Nature Museum has been connecting Chicagoans to nature and science. As a leader in the field of scientific research, education, and community programming, the Nature Museum’s mission is to create a positive relationship between people and nature to grow the region’s urban connection to the world of nature and science. Before joining the Nature Museum, Ms. Amico served as the CMO at P33, a nonprofit driving inclusive growth for Chicago’s tech sector. In that role, she was responsible for reaching over 1 million tech professionals nationwide through transformational digital efforts and exploring pathways to STEM education for Chicagoland. With almost two decades of experience, Ms. Amico has generated awareness and revenue for some of the world’s most iconic brands. She is described as a “visionary leader”. She has been featured on ABC, NBC, Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Parent, the Sun-Times, Block Club Chicago, Waymaker Journal, and other media outlets. Ms. Amico is a recognized Chicago leader and currently serves on several boards and advisory committees. Her current board engagements include the Midwest Board of UNICEF and the French American Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Ms. Amico serves as a mentor to mHUB’s Climate and Energy Tech teams and is a Management Leadership for Tomorrow Fellow. In 2022, Ms. Amico was named Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40. She also served as a Forbes Contributor. Ms. Amico has earned Master of Business Administration degrees from both the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in marketing and Cambridge University, Judge Business School in entrepreneurship. Outside of her professional and civic engagements, Erin enjoys traveling with her family and writing children’s books.
