Cheryl Rucker-Whitaker is the President of CINQCARE Illinois. CINQCARE is a national company focused on “care where you live” for black and brown populations and anyone who needs us. As a physician, Dr. Rucker-Whitaker is able to bring learned insight from her experience about opportunities to support transitions of care from the hospital and facilitate successful post-acute transitions of care. As an intentional entrepreneur, Dr. Rucker-Whitaker is expert in translating epidemiologic, acute care and social determinants of health data to services that meet client needs. Dr. Rucker-Whitaker was co-founder of a Medicaid managed care company that grew to 200 employees, 300million in revenue, developed an integrated care management technology platform, and designed urban care management models to service some of Chicago’s most disadvantaged communities.

Dr. Rucker-Whitaker is an active entrepreneur, advisor, and board member. She co-founded a company focused on patient engagement for the hard to reach. She is an advisor to Health2047, Inc. a venture studio, and Health 2047 Capital Partners, a venture fund, both wholly owned subsidiaries of the American Medical Association. She serves as an Independent Board member of Equality Health, a Senior Clinical Advisor to BexaHealth, an innovative technology focused on expanding access to breast cancer screening, and an advisor to Nest Health, a start up focused on managing maternal morbidity and mortality in African American populations.

Dr. Rucker-Whitaker is a member of The Chicago Network, The Economic Club of Chicago, Women’s Business Leaders of the US, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, She is former President and Chair of Board of Governors of the Institute of Medicine Chicago and former Chair of the Illinois State Medicaid Advisory Committee. She sits on the Dean’s Advisory Council for Emory College of Emory University. She is a graduate of Emory University, Washington University School of Medicine, and the Harvard School of Public Health. She did her internship in internal medicine at Stanford University Medical Center and residency in primary care internal medicine at the University of California San Francisco. She is a frequent medical contributor for WVONAM-1690 radio.
She is a wife and mother of 2 teens and 2 doodles. She loves talking about raising resilient children, tasting different pinot noirs, and playing scrabble, wordle, and learning or use her crockpot.
