Greater Chicago Food Depository (Kate Maehr, Executive Director)

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is at the center of a united community effort working to bring food and hope to individuals and families in Cook County. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our community faces unprecedented challenges.

How you can help:

  • Make a donation: While all support is appreciated, financial support gives us the flexibility to meet the greatest needs. A donation of any amount helps us continue to respond. Visit our website to make your gift today.
  • Volunteer in our warehouse: Volunteers aged 18-60 are needed to pack food boxes. Volunteering is an essential service during Illinois’ “Stay-at-Home” order.
  • Become a Social Ambassador: The Food Depository’s Social Ambassadors are a group of people dedicated to helping us spread the word online about our mission to end hunger. Today, we need you more than ever to help make a difference. To learn more, visit our Social Ambassadors webpage.
