Ana Prokic-Kostic serves as the operational and financial leader for CBRE’s U.S. Advisory business, overseeing a 2,000-person organization across 120 offices in nine regions that supports more than $6 billion in annual revenue. At CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, she leads an enterprise operating platform that brings together financial operations, market operations, governance, and execution to enable one of the firm’s largest and most complex businesses to perform at scale.
Raised in Serbia during a period of civil conflict, Ana left home alone at age sixteen after earning a full scholarship to the United World College International Baccalaureate program as one of the country’s top students. Having experienced the uncertainty of two civil conflicts, she learned early that resilience, adaptability, and education could change the trajectory of a life. What began as an opportunity for education became the foundation for a lifelong belief that tenacity, intellectual curiosity, and disciplined execution can transform both organizations and lives. Those early experiences continue to shape a leadership style grounded in humility, accountability, and the conviction that meaningful change begins with people.
Throughout her career, Ana has become known for leading complex organizational transformation. She has repeatedly integrated fragmented, regionally siloed organizations into cohesive national operating models that improve performance while strengthening culture. In U.S. Financial Operations, she standardized processes across Advisory business lines, reducing error rates by 60% while enabling the organization to support an additional $2 billion in revenue alongside a 30% increase in transaction volume. In U.S. Operations, she aligned more than 1,600 professionals across nine regions under a single national framework, introducing data-driven performance standards, building a cross-regional leadership team, and creating greater consistency, collaboration, and accountability across the enterprise.
Ana’s greatest strength lies in helping large, complex organizations function as one. Her ability to connect people across functions, regions, and leadership levels has earned her a reputation as a trusted enterprise leader who builds both operational excellence and organizational cohesion. Known for thriving in highly matrixed environments, she is frequently called upon to align competing priorities, bridge diverse perspectives, and create clarity where complexity once existed.
Chicago is more than where Ana works-it is the community she intentionally chose and has invested in for more than two decades. She is a Leadership Greater Chicago Signature Fellow (Class of 2023), a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, and has been actively involved with the Executives Club of Chicago since 2008, serving on the Leadership Circle Advisory Board, chairing the Member Engagement Committee, and mentoring emerging leaders through the EC Associates and Women’s Leadership programs. Within CBRE, she served as Chair of the Chicago Women’s Network.
Having navigated the path from immigrant to executive largely without a roadmap, Ana is deeply committed to opening doors for others and believes leadership is ultimately measured not only by the organizations we build, but by the leaders we develop, the opportunities we create, and the communities we strengthen.
