Kimberley Darey, MD, MBA, CPE serves as President of Elmhurst Hospital, leading efforts to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care while advancing hospital operations, workforce initiatives and social impact.
As a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Darey brings a unique blend of clinical and administrative expertise to her position. Since joining Elmhurst Hospital’s medical staff in 2010, she has held a range of leadership roles, including Medical Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs.
Dr. Darey has played a pivotal role in clinical innovation and quality improvement at Elmhurst Hospital. She led initiatives to improve outcomes for mothers and newborns affected by opioids, enhanced recovery after gynecologic surgery, improved outcomes for mothers with preeclampsia and hypertension and safely reduced the overall rate of C-sections. These efforts not only elevated patient outcomes but also contributed to hospital-wide performance in safety, efficiency and culturally sensitive care delivery.
Dr. Darey currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and is involved with the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Darey earned her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed her OB-GYN residency at Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago. She earned her MBA at UMass Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management and completed the prestigious McKinsey Black Executive Leadership Program.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Darey is a proud wife and mother to her son. She finds joy in scrapbooking, providing her not only with a creative outlet but with a space for her memories to be preserved.
