Rana Jewel Wright

Rana Jewel Wright is Partner, President of the Oakmark Funds, and Chief Legal & Administrative Officer at Harris Associates LP, a $100 billion global investment adviser and adviser to the $60 billion Oakmark Funds. A results-driven executive with more than 25 years of experience, Rana is known for leading organizations through complex regulatory environments, strengthening enterprise operations, and building high-performing leadership teams.

At Harris Associates, Rana oversees Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Operations, and People functions, bringing an enterprise-wide perspective that aligns strategy, risk management, and talent to advance the firm’s mission of exceptional client service and superior investment performance. She also serves as an interested trustee of the Oakmark Funds, where she partners closely with independent trustees to ensure rigorous oversight, effective governance, and adherence to fiduciary standards.

Rana’s governance and regulatory expertise was shaped through senior roles at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch, where she led the legal strategy for multi-trillion-dollar investment platforms and delivered industry-changing solutions in product governance and conflict management. She began her career at Reed Smith LLP, rising from Summer Associate to Partner and advising global financial institutions on compliance, regulatory examinations, and board engagements.

Rana serves on the Board of Governors of the Investment Adviser Association, where she serves as Vice Chair of the Board and is the Chair of the Compensation Committee, and has held leadership roles in multiple diversity and inclusion initiatives across the industry. She holds a Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.

She hails from New Jersey but currently lives in Chicago and is a devoted mom to her son, Carter. As a die-hard Steelers fan is often times found representing Pittsburgh, she brings the same loyalty, grit, and competitive spirit to her personal passions as she does to her professional leadership.
