Lisa M. Key is the Executive Director of the Driehaus Museum, a nationally recognized museum of art, architecture and design located steps away from Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. As Executive Director, Key has provided transformative leadership for the Museum by completing the expansion of the Museum’s campus in reopening the Murphy Auditorium in 2024, nearly doubling the square footage of the Museum and expanding their programs and outreach. Key is responsible for working collaboratively with Museum staff and board to move the museum’s mission and vision forward to ensure the organization remains a relevant voice in the in the cultural world and remains vital to Chicago. At the Driehaus Museum she has overseen the implementation of exhibitions such as Glass to Garden: Tiffany Inspired Floral Designs (2023), A Tale of Today: Sif Itona Westerberg: Twin Flame Double Ruin (2024), Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective (2024) and Photographing Frank Lloyd Wright (2024), and A Tale of Today: Materialities (2025). She is a frequent speaker on art, design and architectural history. Previously, Key was the Deputy Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art, where she led the museum through a successful capital campaign to expand programs and facilities and worked on groundbreaking exhibitions including Virgil Abloh: Figures of Speech. She has also worked at The Field Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and has taught arts administration widely. She is the co-chair of Enrich Chicago and is on the board of directors of the Magnificent Mile Association.
